The goal of the REBTonAD Project is to develop an online platform to provide mental health services scientifically validated to adolescents with anxiety and affective disorders in an attractive and easily accessible format. This platform is primarily aimed at young people facing internalization problems, but also to parents or psychologists. Mental health specialists can find information about psychotherapeutic interventions with a solid scientific support for anxiety and affective disorders in adolescents, so as to guide them in choosing the most effective treatments.

The two major objectives of the project are:

  1. Development of psycho-educational materials related to anxiety and affective disorders among young people. These materials will be accessed online on the project site and will be addressed to adolescents, parents and mental health professionals. These materials will be personalized according to the needs and the level of knowledge of each category of beneficiaries and its will be presented in an attractive, multi-media format (video, audio).
  1. Development of a psychotherapy program for adolescents with anxiety and affective disorders. The intervention program will be based on the principles of Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) and will be designed to address to a wide range of internalizing symptoms (i.g. anxiety, depression).  The intervention will be delivered online and it can be accessed from the computer and other devices (i.g. tablet, smartphone), which facilitates access to the treatment from different locations.

This project is realized through the IDEI-PN III program, carried out with the support of the Ministry of Research and Innovation, CNCS - UEFISCDI, project number PN-III-P4-ID-PCE-2016-0861, directed by Anca Dobrean, PhD.
